A bitterly cold morning for the first weekend of Cambridge diversions

It was hoped that the diversions would take the 'new' Down Cambridge Flyover and Poppy Bank route. However it would seem that since the lines to the north were blocked that the power for this short section of line is isolated with it. Thus no electric traction could use the route, not a problem for diesel workings but as the route was set 'old road' for the FCC units there would be no point in changing it for East Coast HSTs. So a move to a different location was called for.
