First run of the Barrington Freight.

After the closure of the Cement factory the line between Barrington and Foxton has been mothballed. But now a new flow delivering 'materials' to the former works has begun with the first loaded train, and indeed the first loco to work off the Royston Branch in many years happened on Tuesday 30th July at 06:00 when 66118 reversed the train onto the light railway branch line.
A lot has changed since October 2014 when the railway was fist scheduled for opening. The track has been lifted, re-ballasted, and re-laid. The whole route has been made fit for traffic.

The train arrived early in the morning and unladed at the former cement works. This was the first working of a train along the branch in many years.

Meanwhile the daily freight on the branch also ran.
70803 70803 with 6X37 heads for Whitemoor yard with an engineers train from Hoo Junction. Running under a 6X rather than 6J headcode owing to the point carriers in the consist.
