Recovery of the set was carried out using a Baldwin's 1000tonne crane. Stock was re-railed at the crash site using the Thornaby breakdown train. The stock was put onto wheel skates and dragged t | |||
The coaches (and the loco) were then lifted from the southbound fast road up and over the footbridge, platforms and wall, | |||
and onto waiting low loaders for removal to Derby. | |||
